Tracks
Taivalkoski is a snowy area and the skiing season is quite long. You can start skiing in November and the season lasts to the end of April, at times in May.
Tracks in good condition are wide and there are tracks for starters and people with more experience. Taivalvaara’s ski stadium is one of Finland’s best and we host numerous skiing competitions each winter. There are also nine kilometers of lit up trails.
Winter trails
Taivalkoski’s winter trails are meant for walkers, snowshoers and fat bikers. Dogs are welcome on the trails if they have a leash.
There are 2 trails: Siikavaara’s route and Kikarilampi’s route. The routes starting points are at the parking lot next to Taivalvaara’s skiing centre. Both routes have varying altitudes and scenery.
The routes have been made and are maintained through the cooperation of the municipality of Taivalkoski and volunteers.
